Hosein Kashian

Hussein Kashian, a well-known artist in the fields of painting and calligraphy, who had been hospitalized for some time, passed away in 2024.
This artist began his career in the early 1980s as the head of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art after the Islamic Revolution. Later, he worked as an art expert at the Visual Arts Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
Kashian was also one of the first Iranian artists whose works were auctioned at Christie's.
Master Kashian was a student of the Farshchian School. In an interview with Fars News Agency in Bahman 1396 (February 2018), he introduced himself as follows: "I was born in August 1942 and attended the Kamal-ol-Molk School in 1963. At that time, I was also a member of the Calligraphers' Association and used to visit Mr. Farshchian.
