About Artist:

Sadegh Barirani, born in 1923 in Iran, displayed an early affinity for art. As a member of The Fighting Roosters, a group of college students at Tehran University's School of Fine Arts from 1948 to 1953, he actively contributed to the evolution of Iranian artwork alongside global trends. Despite initial resistance from their professors, The Fighting Roosters immersed themselves in the study of European modern art, blending it with their classical training to create a unique artistic synthesis.

Barirani's artistic approach was characterized by a distinctive brush technique, employing both thick and thin bristles to execute swift movements, inspired by mystical poetry, thus earning him recognition for his mystic lyricism. His talent propelled him to receive grants for further studies in the United States and France, where he honed his craft at various universities and garnered acclaim in international art competitions. Upon returning to Tehran, Barirani assumed the role of a professor of fine arts, leaving a legacy through his prolific creation of modern posters for city events, including shows, festivals, and art exhibitions.
