About Artist:
Taha Behbahani, a multifaceted artist hailing from Tehran, is recognized for his diverse talents as a theater and television director, university professor, painter, and sculptor. Born into an art-loving family, he honed his skills under the guidance of his father and furthered his artistic education at the Kamal al-Molk Conservatory, studying under Ali Akbar Najmabadi. With a bachelor's degree in set design from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Behbahani showcased his paintings individually in Tehran's Khaneh Aftab in 1970, marking the beginning of his prolific artistic journey. His dedication to the arts led him to pursue further studies in puppetry direction in Paris and Salzburg. Throughout his career, Behbahani has exhibited his works extensively both in Iran and abroad, with notable solo exhibitions such as "Dream of an Angel" at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Tehran.
Behbahani's artistic expression, characterized by allegorical and surrealistic elements, often features solitary birds as symbolic representations of man in mystical settings. His paintings have garnered international acclaim, finding a place in the personal collections of collectors worldwide, including those from America, France, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, and beyond. Despite his achievements in directing educational television programs and staging theatrical productions, Behbahani's true passion lies in painting and sculpture, a dedication he has maintained since the 1960s. His artistic legacy extends to his daughter, Tara, who has followed in his footsteps and established herself as a respected artist in her own right.
